Theodore Roosevelt typed letter signed on official White House stationery, dated 10 November 1902. Letter is addressed to General T.S. Peck of Vermont and reads in full, ''I thank you heartily for the cordial invitation extended to me to attend the eleventh annual meeting of your Commandery on November 17th. I should be delighted to be present and greet the members of the Commandery and their guests, and I very much regret that it will not be possible. I have, however, already made engagements covering the date set. With warm appreciation of your courtesy, and best wishes for the complete success of the meeting.'' Signed, ''Theodore Roosevelt'', letter on one page measures 7'' x 8.75''. Minor toning and folds throughout and tape residue to top of verso, else near fine.
