Lot of 89 photographs owned by Academy-Award winning actress Mary Astor. Astor enjoyed a wildly successful career on the big screen that began in the silent era and culminated in an Oscar and an iconic role opposite Humphrey Bogart in 1941's ''The Maltese Falcon.'' Photographs are from various stages of Astor's life spanning the years 1921-1942 and also 1958. Lot is mostly posed portraits of Astor - her onset, publicity stills and candid shots, but also includes a wedding photograph from her first marriage to Kenneth Hawks and a portrait of her father. Accompanied by an Astor cover torn from the October 1925 edition of ''Screenland'' magazine as well as a similarly torn cover from the April 1932 edition of ''Cinelandia''. Largest photo measures 8'' x 10''. Magazine cover has tears and creases. Some slight tearing in small number of photographs. Very good.
