Interesting lot of 33 award plaques owned by Ray Bradbury. Spanning 1977 through 2011, plaques bestowed by myriad organizations honor Bradbury with everything from keys to cities to eloquent dedications, such as the Theater Award from the LA Weekly, which says, ''For a career spent creating animated, cautionary, humane and prescient literature that has been acclaimed in all corners of the world...'' Also includes a Ray Bradbury signed award apparently intended to be given by him to an honoree. Lot comprises: (1) Distinguished Alumini 1977 award from Los Angeles High School Alumni Association; (2) USC award for speaking at their 1977 dinner; (3) Jesse H. Neal 1981 award for Best Subject Analysis for Bradbury's EDN magazine article on electronic technology; (4) Cine 1983 Council on International Nontheatrical Events award for motion picture ''Quest''; (5) Friends of the Libraries of the Santa Clarita Valley 1983 award; (6) International Film & TV Festival of New York 1984 Gold Award for ''Windows on the Universe''; (7) Students & Staff of Poway High School 1985 award ''...For your windswept sands of Mars, your dandelion days of summer and your magical and inspiring love of life...''; (8) Southwest Manuscripters 1991 award; (9) Woodbury University Library Associates 1994 award; (10) County of Inyo, California 1994 award; (11) Thousand Oaks Library Foundation Honorary Lifetime Member 1995 award; (12) Thousand Oaks Library Foundation award from 1995; (13) Fahrenheit 451 Booksellers & Coffeehouse Laguna Beach 1997 Lifetime Achievement award for Freedom of Thought & Expression; (14) LA Weekly 2002 Theater Award award for One Act Play Writing; (15) LA Weekly 2002 Theater Award for Career Achievement; (16) Thousand Oaks Library 2002 award; (17) Caps 2003 award, ''Thanks for taking us to worlds unknown, and for inspiring us to dream up a few of our own...''; (18) 10th Annual Torrance Arts Festival 2003 award; (19) C.A.R.E. award (Cat & Canine Assistance, Referral & Education organization) for support of animals in 2004; (20) Thomas O. Paine Award for the Advancement of Human Exploration of Mars from 2005. Unique plaque features a clay or plaster Mars surface tile; (21) Key to the City of Duarte from 2005 Duarte Festival of Authors; (22) Red Hen Press 2005 Lifetime Achievement award; (23) Key to The City of Bradbury from 2005; (24) Disneyland 2007 award from when, ''...This stately oak officially became The Halloween Tree...a part of Disneyland...''; (25) Friends of the Palms-Rancho Park Library 2009 award; (26) Sons of the Desert Lifetime Achievement award; (27) Greater Los Angeles Writers Society Lifetime Achievement award; (28) ITA Golden Video Cassette award for exceeding $1 million in audited sales or rentals of ''Something Wicked This Way Comes''; (29) custom tile award from 2009 celebrating ''Fahrenheit 451'' from Michael, Giselle and Devin Kelly; (30) giant custom tile award from the Kelly family for Bradbury's 90th birthday showing him riding a rocket ship and bidding him, ''Live Forever''; (31-32) Ray Bradbury 2007 Theater Festival pair of custom tile awards ''From the Illustrated Man Himself''. One is signed by Bradbury and labeled 6/50 on verso. Other is unlabeled; (33) inexplicably, Stuart Sailfish Club first prize award won by Hal Foster for ''Barracuda'' in 1959. Awards range in size from 18'' x 18'' to 7'' x 9''. Part of the Torrance Arts Festival award has moved, obscuring some of the dedication, otherwise lot is in very good to near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
