Original photo from the negative entitled ''Joad Family Applying For Relief, 1938'' taken by the acclaimed photojournalist Horace Bristol and inspiration for John Steinbeck's ''Grapes of Wrath''. Limited edition photo, labeled 4/100 to verso is accompanied by typed letter signed by Bristol dedicating the piece to Ray Bradbury. Letter from 1988 reads in part, ''...I am very happy to learn that my photograph of migrants lining up for relief (or work) applications will receive an appreciative home...'' Letter goes on to explain that the photograph was taken during the spring of 1938 while Bristol traveled the central valley of California with author John Steinbeck. Letter is framed alongside the photo, which is signed ''Horace Bristol '39''. Both letter and photograph are matted and framed to an overall size of 26'' x 20.75'' Small stains on top of frame, else near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
