Ray Bradbury's own Robert Watson painting, signed ''R. Watson '59'' at lower left. Watson had earlier been commissioned to design the cover art for the second edition of Bradbury's ''The Martian Chronicles'', printed in 1953. This oil on Masonite painting depicts a solitary figure between two thick, stone walls, against a beautiful, but desolate blue sky background. Painting is housed in a thin wooden frame to an overall size of 17.25'' x 21.5''. Minor chipping to frame's corners, else near fine condition. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
