Ray Bradbury's personally owned custom oil painting of his iconic ''Illustrated Man'', the titular character of his short story collection whose unique, animated tattoos serve as the frame story. Oil painting on canvas by Robert McClay depicts his version of the shirtless tattooed character, who reappears later in Bradbury's classic, ''Something Wicked This Way Comes''. This Illustrated Man has an expression of fear or shock on his face. Signed, ''Robert McClay'' at lower right; signed, titled and dated 1960 on verso. Framed to an overall size of 31.5'' x 43''. Scattered minor chipping to paint, with more noticeable chip to the Man's right index finger knuckle, else near fine. With a COA from the Ray Bradbury estate.
