Check from the Osborne Trust Company, East Hampton, NY is dated 16 March 1953 and made out in hand by Pollock to the Director of Internal Revenue in the amount of $41. Signatures of this reclusive artist who struggled with alcoholism for most of his life are virtually non-existent. Three years after signing this check Pollack perished in a car wreck.
