Rare Apollo 7 flown Robbins medal, serial number 238, as one of only 255 flown on the first manned mission to the moon. The October 1968 Apollo 7 flight was the first manned mission in the Apollo program, led by astronauts Wally Schirra, Donn Eisele, and Walt Cunningham. Obverse of medal features various mission insignia including the mission's command service module jetting above the earth, a roman numeral ''VII'' and each astronaut's last name engraved along edge. Verso features date of the mission launch, the serial number, and the sterling Robbins hallmark. Coin measures 1.25'' x 1'' and is made of sterling silver, housed in its original ''Robbins Company'' plastic box. Minor tarnishing to verso, else near fine. With an LOA from Apollo 13 astronaut Jack Swigert's sister.
