Rare invitation to the Brooklyn Bridge opening ceremony. Invitation to the 24 May 1883 celebration is addressed by hand. The focal point of the card is an etching of the suspension bridge stretching across the East River to connect Manhattan and Brooklyn. Its original name, the ''New York and Brooklyn Bridge'' is printed in the largest font. Single-page invitation by Tiffany & Co. measures 9'' x 6.5''. Light toning and staining, else near fine.
