Dated 17 September 1936, letter on War Department stationery is addressed to one Charles Horner, President of the National Aeronautic Association. Letter reads in full, ''I am just in receipt of your letter of the 16th, and also the slide for the Mackay Medal, and appreciate your courtesy in this connection very much. Will you please convey my thanks to Mr. Mackay, as well as accept them yourself? With kindest regards and best wishes, Sincerely yours, [signed] H.H. Arnold''.
