Academy Award plaque that hung in Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Plaque commemorates the 4th Academy Awards in 1931. Best Actress winner Marie Dressler's face occupies the right side of the plaque, opposite Best Actor Lionel Barrymore. Plaque also mentions ''Cimarron'' as winner of Best Picture. Grand-scale plaque consists of an embossed copper plate mounted to wood to an overall size of 23'' x 30''. Mild tarnishing and easily repaired lifting of metal from wood at the upper right. Slightly convex appearance could be due to wood warping over time, or it might have been deigned that way, else near fine. Accompanied by a Polaroid photo of the plaque hanging at the Theatre.
