Tiepin for George as Prince of Wales. A red enamel ''G'' monogram is featured in a pearlescent silver ground, under a crystal or glass dome, all surrounded by a border of the highest honor in the UK, the Order of the Garter. Border in blue enamel features the motto of the Order, ''Honi soit qui mal y pense'', Middle French translating approximately to, ''shame upon him who thinks ill of it''. Measures 2.75'' in length and nearly 0.5'' across the decoration. Near fine. Provenance from Sotheby's auction of The Jewels of the Duchess of Windsor, held in Geneva on 3 April 1987, lot 178.
