Lyndon B. Johnson signed first edition, stated fourth printing of his memoir ''The Vantage Point, Perspectives of the Presidency 1963-1969'', published by Holt, Rinehart and Winston: New York: 1964. Signed and inscribed to front fly-leaf, ''To Ralph Tucker with best wishes, Lyndon B. Johnson.'' Tucker was the Democratic Mayor of Terre Haute, Indiana. In this memoir, Johnson recounts his experience in executive office from his succession in the wake of JFK's assassination through his second term. Runs 636pp. Bound in red cloth boards with gilt print in original dustjacket. Measures 5.75'' x 8.5''. Clipped dustjacket has significant wear, especially to top edge, which has a chip that has been reinforced. Overall, very good to near fine.
