Marlene Dietrich personally owned Sleigh Bells compact by Coty from the early 1940's. Gold tone brass compact features six bells attached to a scalloped edge. Opens to a mirror and compartment featuring pressed powder to the right and blush on the left. Compact was designed for the cosmetics giant by Arthur R. Botham, with a patented element by William Shoemaker. This is among the last metal compacts Coty made before metal rationing during WWII. Measures 3.75'' x 3''. Powder section is empty, but the actual blush is still present as if never used. Mirror is detached and shows a small crack to the bottom near center, else compact is near fine. From the estate of Marlene Dietrich.
