FA Cup medal from 1911, awarded to Newcastle United's first manager, Frank Watt. Medal features a coat of arms to obverse with a banner underneath reading, ''The Football Association / 1911''. Reverse bears engraving, ''Won By / N.U.F.C. / F.G. Watt / (Secy)'', surrounded by a pair of laurel sprigs and ''Challenge Medal Runners Up''. Medal features a plain rim with articulated ring at the top. Measures just over 1'' in diameter. Weighs 3/4 ounce or 21 grams. Near fine. Housed in its original burgundy leather case with gilt lettering from jeweler J.P. Watt. A rare artifact from an early FA Cup.
