Otto Strasser, a Nazi who broke with Hitler and was declared ''Public Enemy Number One,'' by Joseph Goebbels, signs a typed letter, dated 11 February 1949 from Nova Scotia, where he was in exile. Strasser writes to a man in Bedford, Virginia that he has sent a copy of his book, ''I Was Hitler's Doctor'' and a signed photograph. He adds, ''...I am living in Bridgetown and if my enemies inside and outside of Germany win their case, will have to continue to do so for some time. But I know history too well and know how quickly the political picture changes and how short today '1000 years' are...'' Nazis, of course, referred to their rule as the 1000-year Reich. He signs, ''Otto Strassser''. Minor toning to 8.5'' x 5.5'' letter, else near fine.
