Woodrow Wilson typed letter signed as President on White House stationery. Dated 16 February 1917, letter addressed to Wilson's brother Joseph reads in full, ''I am sorry to say that absolutely no tickets are available for the ceremony of the inauguration of the Vice President, and the number we shall have at our disposal for my inauguration and for the stand from which the parade is to be viewed I do not yet certainly know, but we are going to try to save six tickets for your use for your friends for the inauguration stand and the parade reviewing stand. In haste, with dearest love from us all. Affectionately yours, [signed] Woodrow Wilson''. Single-page letter measures 7'' x 8.75'' on a sheet of card-style stationery. Toning and crease through center, else near fine.
