Franklin D. Roosevelt typed letter signed, ''F.D.R.'' as President. Dated 27 June 1944, letter on White House stationery is addressed to Major Henry S. Hooker and reads in full: ''Dear Harry: I am delighted that you were able to make the speech for the Democratic National Committee and I was much interested to read your remarks, together with those of Dean Alfange. I liked your speech very much and from all accounts you did a good job. My best to you and I hope to see you soon.'' Single-page letter measures 7'' x 8.75''. Toning and tiny numerical pencil notation to lower left corner, else near fine.
