President Andrew Jackson 3 March 1837 farewell address printed in its entirety on silk. Jackson, in office from 1829-37, sums up by stating positively: ''...Our Constitution is no longer a doubtful experiment...it has preserved unimpaired the liberties of the people...'' But he also warns of: ''...systematic efforts...to sow the seeds of discord between different parts of the United States...'' Minor fabric loss to the 16.75'' x 28.75'' decorative silk, mounted to an 18.5'' x 30.5'' poster board, though most words are legible. Overall very good.
