Charlton Heston's belt from the epic motion picture "Ben-Hur". Heston stars in the classic 1959 remake of the film, first made in 1925 about a Jewish prince in AD 26 Jerusalem who is betrayed by a childhood friend and condemned to the galleys. Brown suede leather belt features a quilted stitching design and five-grommet placket in lighter brown smooth leather. Belt is lined in off-white leather with black belt tip labeling, "C. Heston / Ben Hur / Chg. 16" and another note, "Logan / Costume / Co". Measures 33" from end to end and 7.75" at its widest. Foxing to lining and two subtle ink or charcoal lines on the front, else near fine. An excellent piece of Hollywood memorabilia from a legendary picture. Provenance from Profiles in History, Hollywood Auction 9, lot 104.
