Gus Grissom check signed, accompanied by an embroidered Apollo 1 patch. Check bearing the names of Mr. & Mrs. Grissom is signed "Virgil I. Grissom" in blue ink. Made payable in the amount of $18.86 to "Treasurer of the United States". National Bank of Fort Sam Houston check is dated 27 February 1960. Measures 6.25" x 3". Mounted and framed beneath a 3.5" embroidered Apollo 1 patch, to a total size of 12" x 14". Check has not been removed from frame for inspection but appears near fine save for standard bank cancellations. From the Gus Grissom estate.
