Portrait photograph of film director John Ford signed. Ford's autograph inscription to the lower right corner dedicates the photo to his friend and frequent collaborator, noted film editor Dorothy Spencer. Inscription in green ink reads, "Dorothy / affection & admiration / and all [illegible] / Jack Ford". Portrait of Ford seated wearing sunglasses and a tweed jacket measures 10.5" x 13.5". A 2" tear is present to the bottom edge not affecting inscription, which has somewhat poor contrast against the dark background. Matte textured photo is mounted to a heavy paper board, with remnants from an earlier mounting evident to the bottom edge. Overall in very good condition.
