Original art and playbill from the Broadway premiere of "A View From The Bridge". Van Heflin starred as the main character Eddie Carbone in the drama, and these items are from his personal collection. Drawing in charcoal and watercolor by Joseph Hirsch illustrates one of the most powerful scenes in the play, in which Marco wields a chair overhead as a threat to Eddie, who cowers below. Artwork on paper features Eddie drawn on a separate sheet, cut out and mounted in place. Art is signed by the artist, matted and framed to an overall size of 14" x 23", with a news article on Hirsch applied to backing. Near fine. Playbill from the Coronet Theatre has a print of the art on the front cover. Runs 46pp. and measures 6.5" x 9". Toning, scattered minor tears and a 3" tear to the bottom of the front cover, else near fine. From the collection of Van Heflin.
