Partially-printed telegram is dated 19 April 1880 and filled in by an unknown hand, possibly Garfield's, in pencil. Addressed to Charles Devins of the US House of Representatives, telegram inquires as to the length of the term of ''commissioners appointed by the Council''. Measures 9'' x 5.75''. Toning and minor pencil notations, with a tiny tear to center, else near fine.
