Ernest Hemingway typed letter signed. Simple letter on his stationery from Cuba is dated 10 May 1960, just over a year before his death and months after wrapping his trip to Spain where he worked on an article for "Life" magazine on bullfighting -- the article that turned into his ultimate novel, "The Dangerous Summer". Letter reads in full, "Dear Mr. Parlante, Thank you very much for explaining the account to me and sending a copy of the invoice for the material sent to Spain last summer. I enclose my check for $195. [signed in blue ink] Ernest Hemingway". Someone, possibly Hemingway, has added a double underscored "00" after "$195." by hand in blue ink. Single-page letter measures 8.5" x 11". Creasing. Near fine.
