Official Academy Award Costume Design winner announcement card and envelope for ''Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope'', the first film in the successful series. The film swept the Oscars that year, winning 6 of the 10 Awards nominated for. Feted costume designer John Mollo took home the Oscar in 1978 for his work on ''Star Wars''. The film displayed an incredibly imaginative array of costumes to fit the landscape of the galaxy far, far away. Envelope has ''Costume Design'' printed to back and displays original gold seal torn by the presenter, Natalie Woods, who gave the award on the big night. Card reads simply in print, ''The Winner Is: John Mollo For 'Star Wars'''. Card and envelope are elegantly matted in red and gold and framed to an overall size of 14'' x 19.5''. Overall near fine. Obtained directly from the gentleman who obtained it that night.
