Claude Monet autograph letter signed. Letter from the father of impressionism is addressed to one ''Delisle'' and dated 14 September 1917. Monet's letter is written in French and translates in full to: ''Sir / In response to your letter of the 10th of this month. I regret to inform you of my brothers death. He passed away last Tuesday at the age of 82, after a long and painful disease. Please accept sir my sincere feelings / Claude Monet''. 2pp. letter is written in pencil and signed in ink on a single sheet of linen stationery from his garden estate Giverny Par Vernon Eure. Measures 8'' x 10''. Creasing, else near fine.
