Original 31 December 1961 press release from the JFK administration, reporting on an exchange of letters between Kennedy, Khrushchev and Brezhnev. In response to the Soviet leaders ''Sending to the people of the United States, sincerest wishes for peace and happiness in the New Year,'' Kennedy replies, ''The year which is ending has been a troubled one. It is my earnest hope that the coming year will strengthen the foundations of world peace.'' 8.5'' x 14'' 2pp. release is in near fine condition with light toning and paper clip impression.
