Herbert Hoover autograph letter signed. Letter is written on Hoover's personal stationery and dated 19 November 1953. Letter reads in part, ''Dear Mr. Belding, Ed Anthony transmits your request for a holograph letter for your collection. I receive tens of thousands of such requests. The only purpose of any hand written letters of Former Presidents in these days of typewriters is that he receives or his executives may sell them for more money in the collectors market. That is proved by a letter of mine in your collection. The current price for such a letter in the market is about $1000.00. Therefore I am assuming you will receive that amount for the Boys Clubs of America - as I could get that amount for them by this device. In any event his act is to mark my affection for Ed. And if the Boys Clubs do not get that $1,000.00 I hope that when this letter gets into the dealers' hands that this whole stock in trade will catch fire. Yours Sincerely, Herbert Hoover''.
