Commemorative cover signed by both climbers of Mount Everest: ''Edmund Hillary'' and ''Tenzig Norgay''. The team was the first to climb the world's highest mountain on 29 May 1953. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of this remarkable feat, the Kingdom of Nepal issued this cover and a .925 silver proof medallion depicting the men reaching the summit. Both mountaineers sign the cover in black ink which, along with the medallion, is housed in a clear protective holder inside a blue vinyl case bearing silver lettering that reads: ''The 25th Anniversary of the First Ascent of Mount Everest Commemorative''. A card is included summarizing the historic climb. Measures 8'' x 4.5''. Some staining to the case and a small stain to the cover, else near fine.
