Charles Gates Dawes typed letter signed as Coolidge's Vice President. The single page letter on official Vice Presidential stationery is addressed to magazine editor Edward Bok and reads, ''...I am much obliged for your kind letter of February eleventh...I realize the value of your plan for the recognition of civic service as never before...[signed] Charles G. Dawes''. The word ''civic'' was typed in before the word ''value'' but then crossed out by hand. Measures 6.75'' x 9''. Creasing and a pencil notation to upper left, else near fine.
