Motor Trend's 2008 ''Car of the Year'' award trophy. This most coveted trophy in the automobile industry was presented to General Motors for the Cadillac CTS, a model first introduced by the company in 2002. Cadillac was also the winner of the first ever ''Car of the Year'' award in 1949. Trophy design displays an engineering icon: the exterior caliper, standing upright on an automobile gear. Metal trophy bears a plaque reading, ''MOTOR TREND / 2008 Car of the Year / Cadillac CTS''. Accompanied by an 8.25'' x 10.75'' sheet of advertising for the 2008 CTS in which the trophy was featured. Measures 9'' in total height on a 5.5'' diameter base. Weighs 2 pounds, 11 ounces. Scattered scratching, else fine.
