Auschwitz concentration camp letter. Autograph letter signed is dated 17 January 1943 and bears an Auschwitz rubber stamp marking. Address details are obscured, but the prisoner's name is Ostrowski. Written in German as required, letter translates, ''Dear Marysia, I got your letter from 9.1 of this year, thank you. Thank you for the New Year wishes. I'm healthy and I'm happy that you are all healthy too. It's allowed to send daily parcels with food, only 250 gr. I'm sending kind regards to all relatives and friends. To you and the children, kisses. [signed illegibly]''. Letter runs 1pp. on a single sheet of card-style Auschwitz stationery, measuring 6'' x 9''. Toning and separation starting at edges, with tape repair to central fold interior. Overall very good and quite legible.
