Greene's anti-war novel was published by William Heineman Ltd: Melbourne, London, Toronto: 1955. Greene's autograph inscription to the front free endpaper reads, ''For Jim MacArthur / from Graham Greene / July 1955''. Bound in blue-grey cloth boards measuring 5.25'' x 8''. Near fine.
