The famous creator of the ''Christy Girl,'' inscribes the frontispiece: ''With memories of bygone days - Howard Chandler Christy / Jan 12 '44'' in blue ink. Riley's romantic poem is enhanced by 19 detailed illustrations by Christy. Bound in burgundy cloth boards with gilt lettering and a printed design that includes a Christy portrait. Measures 6.5'' x 9''. Toning to leaves and a prior owner's dedication to fly-leaf. Rubbing to board corners, edges and spine edges. A few tiny scratches to cover illustration. In very good condition overall.
