Check is filled out in Grissom's hand and dated 30 March 1963, just two years after his first suborbital space flight. He was the first of NASA's original 7 to die when an explosion occurred during testing of the Apollo 1 spacecraft. His name and that of his wife Betty are printed to the upper left of the National Bank of Fort Sam Houston check. Measures 6.25'' x 2.75''. With standard cancellations. Near fine.
