Apollo 13 publicity photo signed by the original lineup of astronuats. Each signs his spacesuit: ''James Lovell'', ''Ken Mattingly'' and ''Freddo''. By the time of the launch Mattingly had fallen ill and was replaced by Jack Swigert. A prophetic inscription by one of the astronauts reads in full: ''To Dave Brooks / Thanks for making the / Odyssey sea worthy. We / will bring her back in / good shape.'' The Apollo 13 mission was cut short when an oxygen tank exploded two days into the excursion and the crew had to make a dramatic about face. The planned lunar landing was cancelled, the lunar module Aquarius jettisoned and the crew indeed brought themselves home in one piece in the command module Odyssey. 10'' x 8'' photo is matted and framed to an overall size of 15'' x 12.75''. Near fine.
