John Wayne production used grenade vest from ''The Green Berets,'' his 1968 Vietnam War film. Vest was supplied for the film by the U.S. government from WWII-era supply stock, based on a design first introduced during WWI. This was the only Wayne film for which the government issued official property. Khaki green canvas vest features 11 grenade pockets with snap closures; 6 on the top row and 5 on the lower row. Print to the back reads, ''The L.N. Gross Co. / 4-18''. Measures 17.25'' x 10.25'', with three leather straps sewn into upper. Fine condition. Accompanied by a COA from John Wayne Enterprises, run by Ethan Wayne.
