Autograph letter signed by Henri Gregoire, the influential Bishop who supported the ideals of the French Revolution and whose life was spared as a result. Postmarked 21 April 1815, letter to a Monsieur Rouyer translates in part, ''Will M. Rouyer be free tomorrow evening towards seven o'clock? If that hour is agreeable to him, I shall be very happy to see him, and I shall...repeat to him the assurance of my affectionate and cordial esteem. Gregoire / Ev. de Bl.'' Single page card style letter measures 3.75'' x 6.25''. Very good condition.
