President Taft invitation to the White House dated 19 June [1911], the date of the Tafts' 25th wedding anniversary, to a Mr. Gulliver. The Tafts' anniversary party, an evening garden party for thousands of guests, was the biggest social event of the summer and the social highlight of the Taft administration. Minor soiling and toning to 5.5'' x 4.5'' silver embossed invitation card. Moderate soiling to 5.75'' x 4.75'' embossed envelope, postmarked in Washington, D.C. and addressed to Henry Gulliver. Overall very good.
