Theodore Roosevelt January 1902 White House invitation. At the beginning of 1902, Roosevelt had only been in office for four months, having become President on the assassination of William McKinley. The invitation reads, ''The President and Mrs. Roosevelt request the pleasure of the company of Miss McBride at a reception to be held at the White House / Thursday evening, January the thirtieth, nineteen hundred and two, from nine to half after ten o'clock''. Gold embossed seal to invitation. Minor soiling to 5.5'' x 4.5'' invitation and accompanying hand addressed envelope. Overall very good.
