Richard Nixon typed letter signed to Robert McNamara, then World Bank president. In the letter on White House stationery, dated 16 February 1972, Nixon writes in full: ''Dear Bob, On February 9, I submitted to the Congress of the United States my third annual review of American foreign policy. In it, I have tried to describe in detail the major developments in our policy during the past year and the challenges which still lie ahead. Because you share my special interest in making every effort to build a just and durable peace, and because this document reflects my personal thoughts on international affairs, I wanted you to have a copy. With kindest wishes, Sincerely, [signed] RN''. Single-page letter measures 7'' x 10.5''. Creasing, else fine.
