The medical missionary and Nobel Peace Prize winner's autograph dedication in French to the fly-leaf is signed ''Albert Schweitzer'' in black ink and dated 1965. Book runs 159pp., bound in beige cloth boards with green print. Generously photo-illustrated, it provides a glimpse into the world of medicine in the French Equatorial Africa of the 1940's. Measures 6.25'' x 9.25''. An inscription noting the Gabon location by an unknown hand appears below Schweitzer's on the fly-leaf. Sunning to boards and tape repair to spine base, with cracking to endpaper at rear hinge, else very good.
