Arthur Ashe's Associated Black Charities Award bestowed 3 days before his death in 1993. Plaque reads, ''Associated Black Charities presents to / Arthur Ashe / THE IMMORTAL / In Honor of Althea Gibson / February 3, 1993''. Gibson, like Ashe, broke many landmark racial barriers in tennis as well as gender barriers. Metal figural statue on a wooden base measures 18'' in total height. Base measures 6'' across and 3.25'' deep. Figure has loosened slightly from base, else near fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
