Arthur Ashe's Davis Cup flag from 1984. Ashe served as captain of the U.S. Davis Cup Team that year. Heavy gold stitching reads: ''COPA DAVIS / Argentina / vs / USA / AAT / 1984''. The U.S. defeated Argentina and became runner-up in the final, ultimately losing to Sweden. Flag is made of navy blue felt with an indigo fabric backing and features ties to the top edge for hanging. Measures 9.5'' across at its widest and 21'' in length. Creasing and fading to backing, else near fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
