Arthur Ashe's trophy from the 1966 Thunderbird Tennis Invitational. Here, Ashe takes first place in men's singles at the 14th Annual such tournament hosted by the University of British Columbia. At the time, Ashe was studying business on a tennis scholarship at UCLA. Silver-plated copper trophy is engraved ''14th Annual / Thunderbird / Tennis Invitational / Mens Singles Winner / 1966''. Tulip cup has a 5'' diameter mouth and sits on a 4.5'' foot to an overall height of 8.75''. Weighs 1 pound, 9 ounces. With House of Trophies label. Tarnishing with a spot of residue to the top center perhaps from a previously affixed ribbon, else near fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
