The 15 November 1970 edition of Huntington, West Virginia newspaper, ''The Herald-Advertiser'' bringing the news that Marshall University's entire Thundering Herd football team was killed in a plane crash in its hometown. All 75 people onboard Southen Airways Flight 932 were killed on their way home from an away game in North Carolina. The Douglas DC-9 commercial jet crashed into a hill as a result of the pilot's miscalculation of altitude, possibly due to equipment failure. Paper runs 66pp. of 78 and contains all the pages that cover the air disaster according to a contents box on the front page (pp. 13, 32 and 33). Toning and chipping to bottom edges.
