Elmer Layden and Harry Stuhldreher signed 10'' x 8'' matte photo, dated 1 January 1925. Layden and Stuhldreher, two of the ''Four Horsemen'' of the University of Notre Dame's 1924 football team coached by the legendary Knute Rockne, sign in the margin above the photo. Notre Dame beat Stanford 27 to 10 to win the 1925 Rose Bowl, where this photo was taken. Players and coaches (Rockne in a hat) are identified in the caption. With JSA COA.
