Rare Princess Ruth Ke'elikolani 1882 Honolulu luau invitation. Part of the founding dynasty of the Kingdom of Hawaii and staunch defender of Hawaiian tradition, Ke'elikolani served as Royal Governor of the Island of Hawaii for almost 20 years. Invitation is addressed to a Mr. G.A. Wells and reads in part: ''Her Royal Highness Princess Ruth Ke'elikolani Requests the pleasure of your company at a Luau at her residence, Kaakopua...'' 1pp. invitation measures 4.75'' x 7'' with toning and foxing throughout and very small tear forming along center fold.
