Dorothy Parker Large Photo With Inscribed & Signed Mat -- 1928

Blacklisted screenwriter Dorothy Parker casts a sideways glance at the camera that captured this image. The columnist and critic inscribes the surrounding mat board: ''To Mr. and Mrs. Adams / from / Mrs. Parker / 1928 (I think)''. Parker divorced her husband in 1928, but here still signs as a married woman. The satirist was a founding member of the famous Algonquin Round Table and was known for her wit and troubled personal life. Matte photo is matted to an overall size of 12.25'' x 15.75''. Toning and fading to inscription, else very good. An intriguing image of an iconoclastic personality.
